The 2012 Hunt Season

The 2012 Opening Meet will mark the 88th hunting season of the Fairfield County Hounds. The cubbing season begins the first week in August. Opening Day of the formal season is the first Saturday in October, when the spectacular colors of the New England autumn are on grand display.

Fairfield continues to hunt until ice forms on the ground and the ponds, usually by the end of December, at which time the season is called by the Masters to protect hounds, horses, riders, and our beautiful country.
